Shaggy Dogs and Black Sheep The origin of Even More Phrases we Use Every Day by Albert Jack with illustrations by Ama Page

Days ago I bought: Shaggy Dogs and Black Sheep The origin of Even More Phrases we Use Every Day by Albert Jack with illustrations by Ama Page.
When I started to read it first expressions I thought were: clever, clear, vivid, interesting, intriguing, powerful.
Divided in eighteen sections, the best known expressions of english language are explained for the joy of an English-learner or someone who wants to discover more about his/her own language and expressions in great detail.
What is a red letter? When someone meets his/her Waterloo?
What does Write like an Angel means? It is important to Keep the Wolf from the Door, you will see. The Best Thing since Sliced Bread. Do you know someone who wants to pass the buck?

Wonderful book, great if you love history as well.

Highly recommended.
