The Box How the Shipping Container Made the World Smaller and the World Economy Bigger by Marc Levinson is an illuminating, entertaining, interesting, compelling book published by Princeton Press about the role taken by containers in our society and what it meant this change of strategy for economy. The book reconstructs the story of containerization with that first trip when in April 1956 a refitted oil-tanker carried 58 shipping containers from Newark to Houston.
An innovation this one of the second half of the 20th century in grade to change business in the world, re-thinking global economy projecting it in a new system and permitting to find more items everywhere in the Globe.
