Marmion by Walter Scott

Marmion by
Walter Scott is a new book published by Edinbugh Press. When discovered that Walter Scott was writing again a work in 1806 Constable offered thousand guineas for copyrights. Thee book was released in 1808; it is completely written in poems. It was a big success and soon reached the sould out with always new fresh re-prints.
Scott was an author who published in verses, poems, and he tried to distinguish himself by the most known, at that times sounded "charismatic" Lord Byron: it was this competition that led him in other lands.
The story of Marmion: Lord Marmion falls in love for CLara de Clare. Lord Marmion is not alone in this story. He has a mistress in the person of Constance de Beverley a dishonest nun. Thanks to a letter addressed to the fiancee of Clara, De Wilton is put in the intrugue and, lost the duel against Marmion he goes in exile.
Considering that Marmion won't return in Constance's hugs, Constance as final revenge will prove thanks to various documents that De Wilton is innocent.
At the end of this story the happy end: De Wilton will marry Clara.

Enjoy this poem!

Highly recommended.

I thank Edinburgh Press for the copy of this book.
