New York Offbeat Walks by Stephen Miller

New York Offbeat Walks

by Stephen Miller is a new touristic guide released by Museyon Books.

The author visited the first time New York in 1990 and writes that he still thinks NYC is the most exciting city of the world.

The purpose of this touristic book? This guide wants to pass through history, architecture and popular culture, proposing attraction less known than other ones.

And so, why not discovering the hidden New York close to the one so well-known by everyone? There is in fact a part of the city unexplored the one where maybe you wouldn't never go, the one that marked its existence because of obscure reasons: where mobsters were assassinated, where current billionaire live: more poetically, speaking of the Beat, where these poets loved to hang out together.

Stephen encourages tourists to walk calmly, observing the city with attention, speaking with common people, because each of them has a particular story to tell, be sure of it. New York City must be lived with calm, without rush.

You'll find a lot of movie locations: When Harry met Sally, Taxy Driver, You've Got Mail,  Ghost and many others.

Divided in 12 chapters, richly and warmly illustrated, you are ready for your exploration of the city.

This touristic book is spectacularly interesting, and I love the approach of Museyon Books: they want to stimulate the curiosity of tourists thanks to local history, unknown facts, for donating the real city to their readers, not just the one offered in ads and brochures.

Highly recommended.
