Filming Locations 200 Iconic Scenes to Visit by Alex Child

Oh, New York!
One of the most beautiful cities of this world with Paris, Prague, Florence.

I confess this: I grew up with the movies of Norah Ephron and I will always be thankful to her for the way she "read" the city; Woody Allen's movies, part of my fascination for that city as well.

When I received the ebook by Museyon Filming Locations 200 Iconic Scenes to Visit by Alex Child, and I saw all that wonderful movies, it was like to return home, in a home that I know.
I proved the feelings of the past, when joy was simple, and when, first of all, you receive something precious and felt that you want so badly.

I love movies, always loved them, New York is a wonderful scenario for them because it is, simply a wonderful reality, and its skycrapessk, streets, gardens, corners, offers a variety of cinematographical inventions for keeping interested the viewers. One of the first movies I saw was King Kong, I remember it perfectly. I was very little.

Divided per areas, Upper East Side, Central Park, Upper West Side, Harlem and Manhattan North, Midtown East, Midtown West, Chelsea, Union Square and Greenwich Village, East Village, Lower East Side and Nolita, Soho and Tribeca, Downtown and Dumbo, Brooklyn, now follow me, because we will comment some of the movies picked up by the author, all wonderful I can tell you that.

Serendipity, with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. Interested to buying both a last pair of gloves at Bloomingdale's, we are close to Christmas, the two will start to believe that their story is touched by destiny, a book, a dollar and...serendipity. If you want to taste their hot chocolate goes at 225 East 60th Street.

I love Diane Keaton and also her more recent movies because she is intellectually sophisticated; here with her companion of that time, Woody Allen in Annie Hall. If you are curios, Annie Hall's apartment was at the 68th Street between Madison and Park Avenues.

Kramer vs.Kramer, a movieI firstly discovered at school when I was little.
In this case a wonderful Dustin Hoffman, Ted, in the movie remains alone with his son. His wife left the house, their family, everything.
Iconic movie, in grade to touch the heart of viewers. The location choosen Central Park, the biggest park of the city where newyorkers love to spend their free-time.

Café Society a movie by the always genial Woody Allen set in the 1930s Hollywood glamour and new York nightlife. Central Park the location.

Ghostbusters was an enchanting movie. No idea how many times I watched this movie. A group of young men, so-called ghostbusters, try to remove from houses phantoms etc existing in the city. If you haven't never seen this movie, you must do that! The location taken in consideration the one of Columbus Circle.

You've got Mail was the last romantic comedy Norah Ephron created with the duo Meg Ryan-Tom Hanks.
Kathleen is a bookshop owner, but Joe Fox intends to open a new mega book store in grade slowly slowly of killing her romantic, beauty, little reality. The location's address: 2245 Broadway at 80th Street.

Now, let's go with me at the American Museum of Natural History located in the 79th Street and Central Park West, the perfect scenario for a movie, adapted by a book written by Milan Trenc, The Night at the Museum. The movie with Ben Stiller and Robin Williams has been a great success.

Malcom X is a strong movie. I can tell you that, and sad like sad was the condition of the black Americans in the 1960s. Location choosen the Apollo Theater at the 253 West, 125th Street.

Breakfast at Tifanny's is a jewel. With Audrey Hepburn in the role of Holly Golightly (in this case to me the movie is best than the book written by Truman Capote) where should we go according to you? At Tiffany & Company 727 Fifth Avenue. The Fifth Avenue is the most exclusive Avenue of Manhattan.

Big is another movie with Tom Hanks. Trapped in a body of a 30 years old boy, realistically the protagonist is just 12 years.
Location choosen Apple Store (FAO Schwarz): 767 Fifth Avenue at 58th Street.

Sleepless in Seattle is a dreaming movie, for soundtrack, protagonists, thematic, written by Norah Ephron. Let's say that the movie focuses the attention about the situation of widowhood experienced by Sam. Architect, Sam lost his wife. He lives with his son Jonah in Chicago, although, for removing all his sadness, for not seeing everyday the places where he and his wife, passed away, spent their time together, decides to move on, changing air and life, in Seattle.
True that in that city rain is a constant presence for eight months per year, but Sam slowly finds a new stability, in an enchanting corner of the city, although melancholy is still strong.

On Christmas, Jonah, his son, will call doctor Marsha Flinston during a radio program, telling that, according to his point of view, his daddy needs a new wife. Doct. Marsha will speak with Sam as well and although Sam is skeptical, after a while he will completely open his heart to the doctor, telling her how special was that woman for him and what it meant now being alone without her.

At the same time Annie is a reporter of a big and beautiful reality and she is sure of something: she has found the love of her life in her co-editor, and she is ready to introduce him to her family. Their wedding the most important appointment of the new year.

But, speaking with her mom, her first doubts...Will that man be her biggest love?

Once she leaves from Baltimore where she spent Christmas, she hears on the radio the witness of Sam.
As many other women she will write him proposing to meet him on Valentine's Day on the Empire State Building: 350 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street as did also Cary Grant and Deborah Carr in a movie.
Jonah loves Annie and understands before Sam that this one is the perfect match while Sam repeates him: "I am not going to New York to meet some woman who could be a crazy, sick lunatic! Didn’t you see Fatal Attraction?"

I would want to add something about the role played by Pullman. I found it wonderful, beautiful, enchanting, for the class that we will also see on Windows on the World, Twin Towers xxx, during a romantic evening; it was Valentine's Day, a big red Heart displayed on the Empire State Building while Annie will communicate him that she fell in love for someone else. With profound respect, Pullman accepted it, saying that a marriage is difficult for itself, without to start with a beginning so...discouraging.
He also added that he was in love for her, but as he adds, "Let's put it aside."
The same Annie admitted that her fiancee is an enchanting person.

The scenario picked up for Manhattan another iconic movie by Woody Allen? The Museum of Modern Art: 11 West 53rd Street.

Another movie I love a lot is Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
A numerous family leaves for spending their Christmas vacation in Miami. Their little son Kevin will end in a flight for New York City. What to do all alone in New York City?
No fear: he decides he wants to spend some time at the Plaza Hotel (good tastes!) and it will be a wonderful time. Not only: locations involve Central Park, an homeless and her tender heart, a beautiful toy store, and a gang of robbers seen in the first movie as well.
Happy end for everyone!!!
So: if you want to spend some days or a night at the Plaza, here the address: The Plaza Hotel, 768 Fifth Avenue at 58th Street.

The age of Innocence is a penetrating work directed by Martin Scorsese and based on a book written by Edith Wharton. It's absolutely stunning, and rich under every aspect. The story is a bit sad, but also fascinating. I suggest this movie to everyone.
Location: National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South.

Friends: the lucky tv series with Rachel (Jennifer Aninston) and company. The Friends Apartment is located here: 90 Bedford Street at Grove Street.

Another iconic movie directed by Rob Reiner and written by Norah Ephron is When Harry Met Sally. With Meg Ryan and a brilliant Billy Crystal, this movie treat mainly the profound differences existing between the behavior of a man and a woman when in love or when they experience sex.
One day Harry tells Sally he is more sure of keeping satisfied during the love-making her partners and Sally asks him if he is so sure because they simulate an orgasm.
Harry is skeptical and insists but Sally will say: “It’s just that all men are sure it never happened to them and all women at one time or other have done it so you do the math.” Sally will simulate an orgasm.
An iconic scene, that one, with a lady, placing an order and saying, after she heard her: “I’ll have what she’s having.” The lady was the mother of Rob Reiner.
Katz’s Delicatessen: 205 East Houston Street is waiting for all of you! And happy orgasms!

I haven't never seen entirely this movie, Ghost, for a reason or another, but unforgettable Patrick Swayze, iconic Demi Moore, this one is the story of a man killed. His spirit will stay close to the protagonist 'till at the final resolution of the case.
Location: Sam and Molly’s Loft, 102 Prince Street

Kate&Leopold is a wonderful contemporary and historic movie with Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman. He is from the past, he is a duke and he has a charm, education, completely unknown in the modern times where Kate live, although slowly Kate will be conquered by him and she will decide of build her existence with him.
The location the Brooklyn Bridge.

Working Girl with a great Melanie Griffith the story of someone in grade at the end of being successful.
Location: Staten Island Ferry.

It's pretty sad for thematics treated, Saturday Night Fever but soundtrack is legendary.
Location: 86th Street, Bensonhurst.

Two Weeks Notice a movie with Hugh Grant and Sandy Bullock. Location: St. Marks Church-in-the-Bowery, 131 East 10th Street.

I hope that you will bring with you this book when you'll afford to NYC, so that you can live in first person what experienced on a set.

You will see that thanks to this book it will be like to return to live in a happy land; it happened to me when I open this ebook and I re-discovered the movies with which I grew up with.
This guide is a safe land, with good movies, good protagonists, interesting thematics, and a lot of joy and happiness for everyone. I also highly recommend to you to re-watch these movies and all the rest I didn't mention.

I thank Museyon books for this ebook.
