Owls: extraordinary intelligent creatures but.... partially misunderstood. 

Although beautiful animals, there are still problems because considered, wrongly, being nocturnal animals, the obscure part of that humanity, close to the darkest powers of this world. 

For a long long time, as you will read, owls have been discriminated, treated seriously bad just because they live and interact the most during the night, and maybe because they are curious animals. 

Yes, they are curious: 14 vertebrae in the neck, men just 7, they can rotate their head wherever they want to look at. They are brutal hunters, but their action in the environment is absolutely indispensible because they keep clean places by snakes, mouse and other sometimes disturbing animals.

In the book you will find wagons of beautiful pictures of these animals also thanks to the fact that in the USA and Canada there are many varieties, all differents, and each of them is unique in its own way. You will find great explanation of every owl in a special chapter dedicated to them. 

The author will explain you how to interact with them, trying to understand their behavior,  offering advice to the peoople interested to become friend with them, explaining also  to the reader how to help their preservation. 

A splendid  book for all the passionate of wild animals and nocturnal ones, serious, complete. It doesn't forget anything.

Personally, let me add this, I have had a little owl in our barn years ago. It has been a beautiful experience. They are friendly animals, close to the man more than what we can believe and truly truly affectionate if you treat them well. Gustavo became a photo-addicated!  Oh, of course I had called that little owl Gustavo

(but it could be a girl-owl of course!) and I have seen him again once adult several times.

 Nuova era per Books for Dogs!

il nuovo presidente della charity di Umbertide a favore degli animali, ha avvisato gli utenti che il caro, vecchio logo che tutti noi avevamo conosciuto, è andato in pensione soppiantato da questo qui!

Perché  questa scelta Michael?

"Pensiamo che vada d'accordo con tre nostre idee: abbiamo intenzione di occuparci anche di altri animali, cani a parte, enfatizza la nostra casa italiana e ha un impatto visivo più efficace!"

Come è andata lo scorso anno per Books for Dogs?

"Oh creda, è stato un anno meraviglioso! Intenso questo per la nostra charity Books for Dogs o Libri per i Cani. Grazie al duro lavoro dei nostri volontari e alla generosità delle vostre donazioni, abbiamo avuto un 2024 da urlo, un anno record di raccolta fondi, con un aumento del 37% rispetto al 2023! La nostra ultima sessione di acquisto si è tenuta il 28 dicembre 2024 e in totale abbiamo generato €33.638 in vendite. Cinque eventi e donazioni hanno raccolto €4.290 con tante risate e socializzazione per la nostra comunità. Oltre a tre serate quiz, ci siamo diversificati con un'asta combinata a degustazione di vini presso il nostro partner Enoteca Grace, nonché una serata Bingo! Le richieste per altri eventi continuano ad affluire!"

Michael non dimentica nessuno

 "Il Comitato desidera ringraziare le attività commerciali locali di Umbertide, che hanno supportato Libri per i Cani nel corso degli anni: Enoteca Grace per il tempo e la pazienza nell'ospitare i nostri eventi; il ristorante Casagrande, Kosan Sushi, Vineria del Carmine e Armonie Parrucchierie per le loro generose donazioni di buoni. Osservazioni?

"E’ importante notare che il rapporto ricavi/costi è stato del 21% nel 2024, ovvero costi fissi come affitto e utenze".

Il Comitato e i volontari hanno visitato le strutture supportate.

"A novembre abbiamo fatto visita ai rifugi per animali a cui doniamo regolarmente e siamo rimasti soddisfatti di ciò che abbiamo visto. Le nostre donazioni mensili vengono utilizzate in modo molto efficace a beneficio di animali feriti o abbandonati: cani, gatti, cervi, vari uccelli, gufi, capre, cavalli, mucche, cinghiali e altro ancora. Il Comitato ha stanziato fondi aggiuntivi per progetti speciali, che stiamo identificando in collaborazione con i rifugi. Siamo super entusiasti di ciò che è stato realizzato quest'anno e ciò è stato possibile solo grazie al vostro gentile supporto per il quale vi siamo profondamente grati. Nel prossimo futuro, Libri per i Cani continuerà a tenervi aggiornati e presto lancerà un nuovo sito web per descrivere al meglio le nostre attività".
